Firewall IP is the first and only firewall for iPhone and iPod Touch. Firewall iP app was released on Cydia today with a price tag of $1.99.

Firewall iP allows you to block outgoing connections (TCP & UDP). It hooks into applications from AppStore and Cydia. Firewall iP will alert you if the app wants to establish a connection to a host and shows you the hostname. Then you have the options to allow/deny the connection once/always or allow/deny all connections for the application.

How does Firewall iP Works?

Step 1. When using a network-enabled application a prompt will be displayed giving you control over what hosts the application can connect to. As you can see the options are self explanatory:
- Allow once
- Deny once
- Always allow!
- Always deny!
- Allow all for this App
- Deny all for this App

A prompt will be display for each host, so the “Allow all” & “Deny all” options make it much easier if you are sure the iPhone app is well behaved.

Step 2. The second part of the Firewall application is a rules editor, here you can manage and edit any rules you may have added for any iPhone application.

Once you have selected an application, you will be able to drill down and configure the individual allow or deny rules.
