LEFT 4 DEAD 2

We know that Left 4 Dead 2 is the most promosiong game of the year. If you have bought it, I am sure its worth every penny. Previously we had posted Left 4 Dead 2 walkthrough. Now here are some fixes to the problems you would face with l4d2

Left 4 Dead 2 doesn’t run after the installation :

This is a conman problem that Windows 7 and Vista users are facing. To fix this simply try this :
If you are seeing ‘Incomplete Installation’ with a number that is NOT 35, fixing the Steam Service may repair the problem. Error 35 is associated with network connectivity.

To Fix (First Try)

  • Exit Steam
  • Open a ‘Command Prompt’ (cmd.exe if you are using ‘Run…’ from the start menu)
  • Run: “c:\Program Files\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe” /repair
  • Note: Change “c:\Program Files” to wherever you have steam installed. For a 64 bit OS the default would be: “c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe” /repair
  • Start Steam

To Fix (If that didn’t work)

  • Exit Steam
  • Delete the file:
    32 bit Windows: “c:\Program Files\Common Files\Steam\SteamService.exe”
    64 bit Windows: “c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Steam\SteamService.exe”
  • Restart Steam

To Fix (at your own risk)

  • Exit Steam
  • Kill SteamService.exe from the task manager
  • Copy the version from \Bin into
    \Common Files\Steam
  • Restart Steam

To Fix (Safer, or if the above doesn’t work)

  • Exit Steam
  • Open the Control Panel
  • Open ‘Programs and Features’
  • Right Click on ‘Steam’ and select ‘Repair’
  • This operation can take awhile.

Left4Dead 2 error message “Incomplete Installation (35)” :
If you get this error “Incomplete Installation (35)”, make sure your firewall allows outbound TCP connections to port 27019.

How to fix crashes of L4D2 to the desktop (CTD)
Fix 1 : There are two possible solutions that might do the trick. First one would be to turn off the gore in the game – to do so right click on the Left4Dead2 executable and click properties. Click on Set Launch Options… and add -lv at the end of the line.
Another solution, offered by a moderator on the Steam forums, is to close Steam and go to the steamapps folder in the Steam installation folder. Delete the files “left 4 dead 2 client.ncf” and “left 4 dead 2 common.ncf”, restart Steam, right click on L4D2 and install.

Fix 2: 1. Close Steam. Go to ..\steam\steamapps\. Delete left 4 dead 2 common.ncf, left 4 dead 2 client.ncf. Restart Steam. Right Click L4D2 click Install

Fix game freezes and slow frame rate :
Update Nvidia Drivers to Beta 195.39

Fix you are facing any other problems than that of listed above, please leave us a comment and we will try to post a fix here.
