I believe that Windows XP Home edition does not have Client Side Cache and so, will not have a CSC folder.

@Lennox: This disables gore in-game? Isn’t there another way to solve it, without disabling this effect?

@pritam: I don’t really get how to change the way users log on and off. I have navigated to the user accounts folder, however after that I am stuck. Help?
I am really fed up of the crashes, soon I will consider buying the game instead, so please help me!

Lennox. In the target field, I initially see: “C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe” -applaunch 550

I modified to: “C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe” -applaunch 550 -lv

That didn’t help. Or did I misunderstand your fix?

After executing pritam’s fix I can see CSC. But I am not denied when I try to open it (step 3) and I do not see a “security” tab (step 5). Any ideas?

Hey , i have an idea!
First. Just Shortcut your left4dead2.exe (or Launcher) to desktop.
Second. Click Mouse2 then Properties (You can see Target)
Third. Then add This -lv (it’s like a parameter)
It’s too easy , and works for me

Yeah, thanks pritam. That’s the trick to get CSC showing (in my xp 32bit, not so much on vista 32).
